People Living With HIV: 1.6 million

Children Orphaned By AIDS: 1.2 million

Malawi is known as the “Warm Heart of Africa” for its friendly people and beautiful landscape. However, it is also one of the countries most affected by HIV/AIDS and malaria in the world. HIVAIDS is the number one killer for the adult population and malaria is the leading cause of death for children under the age of five. We are partnering with Dr. Anne Alaniz and her father, Dr. Peter Maseko, to empower their organization (Pothawira) to meet the medical needs of the Salima District. We also partner with the Malawi Ministry of Health implementing our maternal and pediatric HIV/AIDS program (HITSystem) in the Salima District.
